British teenagers Laura Robson and Heather Watson reached the US Open junior girls' second-round.

Robson, who has just announced that she will partner Andy Murray at the Hopman Cup in Australia at the beginning of next year, breezed past Tunisia's Ons Jabeur, while 11th seed Watson saw off Russia's Ksenia Kirillova in three sets.

Former Wimbledon junior champion Robson, 15, beat 16-year-old Jabeur 6-0, 6-1 eight days after losing a deciding-set tie-breaker in her final qualifying round match for the women's singles main draw.

The unseeded Robson bounced back in style with a 43-minute demolition in which she allowed only one break of serve and will now face either seventh seeded American Lauren Embree or qualifier Paula Kania of Poland.

Watson, 17, awaits the winner of the match between Romania's Cristina Dinu and American qualifier Courtney Dolehide after a 6-2, 7-6, 6-1 victory over Kirillova.

A third British girl, Stephanie Cornish, is also in New York and will begin her junior campaign against Russia's Yana Buchina.
