Elena Dementieva continued her golden run at the Olympic tennis centre with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Melinda Czink in the second round of the China Open today.
Playing on court No1 in Beijing rather than the central arena where she won Olympic gold last year, the Russian fourth seed struggled with her serve a little but had too much for the world No51 from Hungary.
In the men's event, Russia's Marat Safin had a 6-4, 6-2 first-round win over Argentine Jose Acasuso while American James Blake beat German Florian Mayer 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
