Carl Froch has dismissed the threat posed by the speed and switch-hitting ability of Andre Dirrell ahead of the Super Six boxing tournament which begins in Nottingham tomorrow.

Either Froch, Britain's WBC super-middleweight champion, or Dirrell will lose for the first time. And Froch, unbeaten in 25 fights, insists it will not be him.

American Dirrell, who has won 13 of his 18 professional bouts inside the distance, comes with a reputation for flashing his fists. But Froch said: "His speed is not a problem. It's all about distance and timing."

The Super Six - the other contestants are Jermain Taylor, Arthur Abraham, Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward - will see each boxer have three bouts with the top four reaching the semi-finals. The final is in 2011.
