Bernie Ecclestone threatens to pull British GP if deal isn't agreed
5 Nov 2009Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has suggested he will remove the British Grand Prix from next season's calendar if Silverstone does not agree to a deal in the next two days.
Ecclestone is reportedly not prepared to negotiate further with the British Racing Drivers' Club, who are responsible for the circuit.
Club president Damon Hill was part of a three-strong Silverstone delegation in Abu Dhabi last weekend hopeful of concluding a deal with Ecclestone.
"They say there is not much between us and them, so they should sign," Ecclestone was quoted as saying in the Daily Express.
"Maybe they have lost their pen but if they don't find it in the next day or two then that is it.
"I will pull the race off the calendar and there will be no British Grand Prix to argue about."
Donington Park's bid to stage the race has already fallen by the wayside after they failed to raise the necessary funds.

Bernie usually gets what he wants. He clearly (for some years now)DOESN'T want a British g.p. That's why he gave it to Donington in the 1st place. He is a shrewd business man who knows his game well and must have suspected (strongly)that Donington would not get it together. He has more interest in money than anything else otherwise the debacle over Silverstone holding a g.p would never have started ( a good few years ago)he is not concerned with what the public want to see, only whether he can make more squillions from abroad. Most of the drivers agree that Silverstone is a must on the calender but Bernie has to be right all the time.GREEDY LITTLE MAN.Its time that the teams who have threatened it in the past ,get on with starting a breakaway series-only now i suppose financial constraints worldwide dictate otherwise.I hope to see a British g.p but also hope that Silverstone dont give in to his demands.Along with Max,i cant wait to see the back of this horrible twerp.
