Victoria Pendleton uses her loaf

Victoria Pendleton is usually seen riding a bike rather than pushing one but the Olympic champion has taken time out of a busy schedule to try and get the nation fit.

The gold medallist has been unveiled as the new Hovis ambassador and is starring in a remake of the famous advert and hopes to persuade a new generation of people to take up cycling.

"It's a great way to stay in shape and it's also a very sociable thing to do."

However, Pendleton has got other things on her mind with the World Championships looming large and the 2012 Olympics on the distant horizon.

"I'm preparing for the World Championships at the moment, which are at the end of March...[and] preparation is going quite well.

"Fingers crossed for the World Championships and obviously development towards 2012."
