Andrew Flintoff tells ECB where he can jump

Andrew Flintoff's agent has revealed the all-rounder's desire to try bungee jumping was one of the reasons behind his decision to turn down England's contract offer.

Flintoff is poised to become the first high-profile freelance cricketer after rejecting the chance to sign an increment deal offered by the ECB - worth about £30,000 - following his retirement from Test cricket last month.

Yet Flintoff's agent Andrew Chandler revealed cricket was not the only thing on Flintoff's mind when he opted to sever his tie to the ECB.

"There were one or two things in the contract that made it difficult to sign," said Chandler.

"He would not have been allowed to participate in dangerous sports, and there is a possibility he might do a TV series which would involve bungee jumping. And without being disparaging, the money was not a lot to sway his mind."

Meanwhile, Eoin Morgan is determined to take a leaf from Ricky Ponting's book in today's sixth one-dayer after scoring his first one-day international fifty for England.

The Middlesex batsman's 58 from 41 balls in Tuesday's ODI at Trent Bridge was overshadowed by Aussie skipper Ponting's superb 126 and he said: "Watching Ponting helps any batsman, because he has dominated world cricket for such a long time."
