Adel Taarabt tells Harry Redknapp the price is wrong
7 Jul 2009Adel Taarabt is desperate to leave Tottenham and has pleaded with manager Harry Redknapp not to price him out of a move.
The striker has struggled since joining from Lens for £3.5million in 2007 and although Malaga want him on loan ahead of a permanent deal Redknapp has blocked the move.
He said: “The manager said if I want to leave it has to be a permanent transfer. I said there are clubs that want me, but you're asking for five or six million euros when you could sell me for three million. If I went for one season I could showcase my talent.”

This guys raw talent, but is young in mind, i think he has improved since going to qpr, he is still greedy but is showing signs as not as much, if we let him go for 5 to 8 mill like everyone is speculating, we will proberly buy him back for 19 mill, harry knows letting him go is a big gamble, hence hes still a tottenham player, i think he might get a chance next season if he improves at qpr, ive seen him play twice and evryone around me in the stand was blown away, lets hope he improves that little to make that first step to becoming a ronoldo calibre player.

100% Agree
taraabt must not be allowed to leave at any cost.
he is a one off and he will prove one of the best talents in europe in the next 5 years.
Redknapp must surely see this....if anyone can harness taraabts talents its surely Harry.
yes he tries too hard when he comes on, but hes under pessure to show what he can do in a small space of time.
give him a 7 match run and reassure him that he wont be dropped and he will settle in to the left midfield with outstanding results.
for goodness sake harry....open ypour eyes!

I agree with everyone here.. Give him 10 games and then decide... I am also reminded of a young ronaldo and how he tried to hard and over complicated things when he first played for MU. Fergie stuck with him and look what happened...
Go on Harry, give the lad a chance...

I have to agree with Geoff, why do we at Spurs keep the dead wood and getb rid of flair and quality players, taarbat and dos santos, keep them get rid of the Jenas's, Zokora's, who can't score enough or no goals at all respectively...
Keep the quality players at the club and youthful, we need the flair players, this guy can kick a ball..
If he wants to go, then let him...

I have watched both Dos Santos and Taraabt (First team and reserves!) and not from my armchair, I can see exactly why the pair of them did not feature last season, they just aren't good enough! Taraabt, might have a future as a Christian Ronaldo tribute act, but ask a QPR season ticket holder who watched Taraabt after a run of games.........promises much, but fails too deliver, Get rid of him Harry

Adel Taarabt is with out dought the most talented football player at Totenham Hotspur Football Club!!!
It has been an absolute discrace that this wonderful talent has not been given any chance to show the football world his skills whilst at Spurs. For four long seasons we have had to endure the biggest play maker fake in the Premier League Jermaine Jenas run the show at Tottenham! JJ's goal scoring and assist record at the club is nothing more than pathetic in comparison to the likes of Gerrard and Lampard!
Give Taarabt a run of 10 games in place of Jenas and he will show he is one of the most talented players in Europe!!!

Harry should give him a go on the left unless he is going to sign a world class left winger & than DOES NOT mean Downing

i think taarabt is a class act,and a bargin if you consider what bent, pavylechenko, bentley, dos santos and all those other wasters cost!just give the boy some time.

Correct (Matt, Deal, Kent, England), we DON'T need the likes of Downing at the Lane. But Taarabt? If harnessed this guy could be a class act, but if Sir Harry doesn't fancy him it's fine with me.

Seen this lad play, very impressive when he comes on, tries maybe 2 hard to impress, quality player. In my opion he reminds me of a young ronaldo! I dont like to brag but im usualy rite when it comes to these things. I dont want downing, bellamy or some of the other shit we ve been linked to. we should keep every player he have other than pav, bently, and zokara maybe bent, jenas and huddlestone (bent has a excellant scoring record but dont think hes the future, huddlestone is just to slow and lazy, jenas has done well but i think his time is up) i think taarbt and gunter should defo be given a chance coz i no theyll impress they do play.

Have the people posting comments earlier ever seen Taarabt play, Steve has summed it up he never ever passes the ball and beats the same player four or five times, the only half decent game he has had with us was when he came on against West Ham away two seasons ago.. he has to go but there are a few like him at the Lane!!

Taarabt remains one of the most exciting players I've seen in years, Harry's not a bad judge. He will keep him and should give him a chance. I'd like to Taarabt at Man City - maybe another season or two. This lad is for europe!!

The lad will never be any good unless he realises that football is a team sport and that it is useful to pass the ball, not just try to beat the same opponent 4 or 5 times. I am having difficulty believing that any of the people posting comments here have ever seen him play
