£15m for Sebastien Bassong is just Toon barmy for Wenger

10 Jul 2009

Arsenal may look elsewhere for a centre-half after Newcastle demanded £15million for Sebastien Bassong.

The Gunners made an enquiry about the 23year-old last week but Arsene Wenger is unwilling to meet the Toon's valuation.

Wenger is also after a central midfielder and St Etienne's Blaise Matuidi, 22, could move to Emirates Stadium for a relative bargain at only £5m.

Bassong is definately suited for the league he has graduated into. I always have had my reservations about his qualities even when he was still misplaced in the premier league. Am sure he's gonna find his level now, thats if he stops talking and starts playing.

It serves Bassong right to be ignored by Arsenal. He must know that Arsenal does not buy blabbermouths. A professional footballer shows his talent with his feet or hands if a goalkeeper. Bassong can find another club where he can scream his head off.

Is this the same Bassong that went down in style with Newscastle last season? I would love to see Arsenal purchase Babel, Lescott & Melo, assuming he hasnt signed for Juventus yet. To fund these purchases we can sell Toure, Senderos, Sylvestre, Traore & possibly Adebayor.
