Wanted man: Peter Crouch is attracting the interest of Spurs

Harry Redknapp bids to link up with Peter Crouch again

Tottenham are weighing up a £12 million move for Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch.

The England international is set to leave Fratton Park this summer and has also attracted interest from Fulham and Sunderland.

Asked about the England striker over the weekend, manager Harry Redknapp said: "I've signed him several times and he's a top player, but we'll have to wait and see. Portsmouth have accepted offers for him, so if they want to sell him, we'd be interested."

Crouch rejoined Pompey a year ago for £9million from Liverpool and scored 16 goals in 49 appearances.

Spurs also remain in the market for Real Madrid forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and are battling with Stuttgart to sign the Dutch striker. Both clubs have tabled offers of £15.5m, while Arsenal also thought to be monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, Spurs' hopes of luring David Beckham back to the Premier League were dealt a blow today as AC Milan hinted the former England captain may return to Italy.

Milan's coach Leonardo, whose club signed Beckham on loan from LA Galaxy for three months last season, said: "I don't think there is anything strange in saying that he could come back into my plans, because he can fit into any system. He helped us so much when he wore our shirt."

Clear-the-air talks between Chairman and Coach, followed by an unambiguous press statement regarding transfers would be just the ticket for the restless Spurs natives. Anyone buying it?

Huntelaar is 95% done deal with ze germans of stuttgart, think he (Harry) may prefer doing a deal for Crouch who is not in kjh class...Also we have quality strikers at the club already..And shoud be strengthning elsewhere.

Harry is waiting on an answer from Huntelaar and the answer is going to be yes. So stop worrying possums.

I love Spurs more and more, but with Harry im getting confused, end of last season he said we needed at least 4 players to improve team, the other day he said 2 and, then said if he can't buy anyone then the squad he has is ok..I don't thnk he knows quality players, majority of the players he has,are not his buys... Forget Crouch, Huntelaar. quality player and sell Bent....
We need Huntelaar, Veluso,maxi rodriguez

He's worse than what we've got. If he joins I certainly wont be at the lane this year.

Yet another ex-Tottenham player returning! Mind you I think he can do a decent job, although, we do have Defoe, Keane, Bent & Pav, who are all quality strikers. Despite other Tottenham fans wanting Bent to go, you only have to look at his excellent scoring record. I have a horrible feeling we will sell Bent & Pav, only to replace them with players who score less often. Another problem will be having 4 main strikers, bearing in mind our failure to qualify for european football, means we only have 38 Premier & 3 cup games guaranteed, so a rotation policy could prove extremely problematic.

Crouch......is no TOP 4 material. If Spurs's ambition is mid-table - YES Crouch will be more than PUURFECT...and please don't tickle us Spurs fans about being in the TOP ASS barckets...just fight it out like Everton, Fulham or Aston Villa. Its baffling me, you sell Berbie and Keano and Others for big sums, why can't we bring in Big names for big sums. Add the figures we could get by disposing Keano, Bent, Bently and Pav - WHY CROUCHING CAT we need a TIGER!! Also Tottenham is one of the few Premiership side known to have good financial standing, where is the desire for honors? Where is the risk? Stop envying Manc. They are NO Chelski. Don't ever lose the battle in your head.

Should Crouch end up at Spurs we would have another player that doesn't know where the goal is and he would keep putting the ball into the crowd.
A waste of 12m we have better players than him at the club already.
