Portsmouth stick with Paul Hart

21 Jul 2009

Paul Hart has signed a two-year contract as Portsmouth manager after meeting with Al Fahim at the club's training ground in Eastleigh.

Hart, 56, replaced Tony Adams in February when only goal difference separated Portsmouth from the relegation zone and helped guide the club to Premier League safety.

Al Fahim said: "Paul did a great job keeping the team in the Premier League last season and, having previously worked as director of youth operations, he knows the club inside out.

"He has immense experience and a great knowledge of the game and commands the respect of the players. I'm looking forward to working with him."

Hart, who joined Pompey in 2007,
said: "Portsmouth are a fantastic club and it's a great honour for me to be manager.

"The players responded brilliantly to the challenge when I was handed the role last season and I'm looking forward to continuing that relationship as we prepare for our seventh straight season in the Premier League."

Hey 'Annoyed'thats a rather unfair opinion of Paul Hart is it not! He did stave off relegation in what must have been difficult circumstances. His career both as a player and coach and track record in football in general has not been that bad to be called a 'no mark manager'. With or without money what makes you think a Sven, Bilic or Mancini would solve the problem. Give him a chance he might surprise you. Still I can understand the frustration but don't place it entirely at Paul Harts door!!!!

I cant believe we ( portsmouth ) have appointed a no mark manager in Paul Hart! Who the hell is he? We were looking at Sven, Mancini and Bilic, and now we get to look at relegation even before the season starts!
Forget the good signings a known manager gets, we will be getting old men and cack players like we used to. We have sold some amazing players and for what? A rich club in the fizzy pop league!
We won the FA cup and have some great results from the Big Four. But that took a good manager and a good team to do it and now with only 15 players and a no mark manager. We will be a joke!
The fans are really the club and we want, no, we demand better for our club. As we are some of the best supporters in Europe, i think we deserve better. I guess its that Storrie poking his fat nose in again, when will we lose this chucklehead? Al Fahim knows no better about portsmouth and English football and Storrie will bend him to his ideas.
Shame really, as i am loyal fan usually and i am very annoyed with PFC.
