Spain star David Villa tells Chelsea he's not interested

29 Jul 2009

David Villa today told Chelsea he will not quit Valencia this summer and is happy to remain in Spain.

The Blues have been repeatedly linked with a £35million move for the Spain international striker, who has also attracted attention from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool.

The 27-year-old said: "I could not spend all summer refuting things, so I wanted to be quiet.

"It depended on the decision of the club, they have decided for me to stay and I am glad for the goals I have at the start of the season.

"I was told I should leave Valencia for the good of the club, soon after that everything changed and from that moment on I never saw myself out of here."

We dont need anyone. Our settled squad is good enough to take on all the others who have new players and won't know what's going on within their team.

That's that then. He'll be on his way somewhere else in Europe before the end of August - nailed on.
