Martin Ling 'quits after nine days'
4 Aug 2009Martin Ling has resigned as manager of Cambridge United after just nine days, it was reported today.
The 43-year-old former Leyton Orient boss is thought to have quit after a match last night but refused to comment on the situation except to confirm he would not be taking training this morning.
Ling had signed a three-year deal and on his appointment he said: "I believe this club can progress.
"They're in the Conference now but this is a League club with the right infrastructure and players."
