Bayern say they are ready to talk to Chelsea about signing Jose Bosingwa

Bayern Munich step up bid to sign Boswinga

12.08.09

Bayern Munich claim they are "waiting for contact" from Chelsea as they step up their bid to sign Jose Bosingwa.

The Bundesliga giants' general manager Uli Hoeness says the Blues promised to contact them after Sunday's Community Shield clash with Manchester United, which Chelsea won on penalties.

Hoeness was reported as saying in the Daily Mail: "We are still interested in Jose.

"We need a strong, experienced defender on the right side, especially if we use (Franck) Ribery in a more offensive role, as is being considered.

"We want only Bosingwa and have no interest in any other player for this position.

"Chelsea agreed to give us a signal after the Community Shield that they were ready to talk and we are waiting for contact from them."

You Chelsea supporters on here need to look beyond the tip of your noses. Italian Manager and a marauding right-back with defensive weaknesses - not a match made in heaven is it ? Chelsea won't sell him, unless he's part of a Ribery deal - you then have a lightening quick, world class forward plus four decent full backs, i.e. Ferreira, Ivanovic, Cole and Zhirkov. What else do you want ?

Have more faith in the new Manager, for goodness sake - he's a class act. Hail, Carletto.

Bosingwa is the best right back we have had since Petrescu so to sell him on (as others have said) would be total utter madness! Seems the Portugese part of the squad are not happy (Deco, Carvalho and maybe Bosingwa and Ferreira), Deco and Ferrerira not worried about, but Bosingwa and Carvalho need to stay ......

I don't know why Bosingwa is so out of favour. If last sunday's game against Man U and the use of Ivanovich at right back was any indicator then Ancelotti had better think again.

I only hope that those guys managing the affairs of CFC know what they are doing. Why on earth would they want to sell one of their top players and on the cheap when they are equally finding it difficult to sign top players.

It would be very disappointing and rather naive if we sold Boswinga when we need all the attacking width we can get and he supplies that down our right hand side. The supposed comments from Bayern Munich suggesting they want him so they can play Ribbery in a more advanced role really takes the biscuit when Chelsea are meant to be pursuing him to become a 'marquee' star signing. Anyway, Chelsea improved dramatically against Man.Utd when Jose came on in the second half and so we would struggle without him.
