Neil Warnock's fears over no-goal row

17 Aug 2009

Neil Warnock fears his Crystal Palace side will struggle to overcome their phantom goal nightmare.

Referee Rob Shoebridge ruled out Freddie Sears's effort after it went in before bouncing out off a stanchion. Palace lost 1-0 to Bristol City and Warnock said: "What about the damage this has to my team?"

Jim Magilton is worried by Queens Park Rangers' attitude after he saw his side draw 1-1 at Plymouth. "We need to show more belief," said the manager.

Watford lost 2-0 at Sheffield United but boss Malky Mackay said: "I think the goals will come."

New Brentford striker Carl Cort was off target again in the 0-0 draw at Brighton. However, he insisted: "I'm not dead and buried yet."

Millwall's new striker Steve Morison almost broke his duck in the 0-0 draw with Carlisle. He hit the woodwork but said: "If it had hit the inside of the post it might have gone in."

Charlton saw off Hartlepool 2-0 and manager Phil Parkinson said: "We've had a good start to the season."

Orient lost 2-1 at home to Oldham and manager Geraint Williams admitted: "We were too negative."

In League Two Dagenham & Redbridge beat Torquay 5-3 while Barnet drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury.

"Get on with it", isn't that the FA's new slogan, time the FA applied it to itself! The sooner tv match officials are put in place the better. We all appreciate football loves the circus, it keeps the tabloids going, but give it a rest and make the decison on the pitch and stop the benign waffle that always follows.
The supporters want to see a contest between the 2 teams with a fair reslut, not a decision reached by poor officiating or honest mistakes... the game has too much money riding on results to be reached though old fashioned methods!
Idea, split the extra cost between the FA and the tv companies and use the tv replays as evidence, whatever decision is reached on the pitch by all the officials should be left unquestioned!
Only use the technology for championship level and above.

Who cares, Neil? You don't give a monkey's about football or you wouldn't manage, behave, talk, and make teams play the way you do.

The sooner you get out of football the better it will be (and take Simon Jordan with you).
