England hero Kelly Smith insists she won't let a long-standing knee injury keep her out of the European Championship final.

The Watford-born forward was voted woman of the match for scoring and helping her side to a 2-1 extra-time defeat of Holland in the semi-final here last night.

Smith needed treatment after the match on her right knee, which has caused her problems for most of the summer, but said: "My knee's really stiff after playing 120 minutes," said the 30-year-old. "I'll probably take a day off, with a lot of massage, ice, and with recovery strategies I should be more than fine for the final."

Smith opened the scoring against a resolute Holland side in the 61st minute. Marlous Pieete equalised three minutes later, but Everton midfielder Jill Scott headed the winner in the 116th minute and England will face the winner of this evening's second semi-final between Norway and Germany.
