Disappointed Phil Parkinson looks on the bright side

21 Sep 2009

CHARLTON boss Phil Parkinson has demanded his players bounce back from their latest setback after a 2-2 draw with Norwich.

Deon Burton and Jonjo Shelvey were on target for the Addicks, who took a two-goal lead, but Norwich struck back.

Grant Holt scored in stoppage time but Parkinson felt the goal should have been disallowed.

He said: “There were a lot of positives from the performance and we're still unbeaten after eight games.

“Norwich's goal shouldn't have stood, but we have to take it on the chin and move on.”

Brentford manager Andy Scott was furious after their 3-1 defeat against Bristol Rovers.

“At times we were all over the place,” he said. “We made too many errors in the first 45 minutes and some of the performances were unacceptable.”

Leyton Orient lost 2-1 to Stockport while Millwall beat Huddersfield 3-1 at The Den.

In League Two, Paul Benson scored his eighth goal of the season to give Dagenham a narrow 1-0 win over Burton.

Boss John Still said: “It's another result that gives us a chance to compete with the big clubs at the top of the league.”

Barnet drew 2-2 with Bradford to move up to fourth.
