'Racist' attack on Jason Euell to be probed
23 Sep 2009Police are investigating an allegation that Blackpool striker Jason Euell was racially abused during the Carling Cup defeat by Stoke at the Britannia Stadium.
Euell was interviewed by officers following the third-round match after a home supporter was ejected by stewards and then detained.
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway was incensed at the incident. Euell was sitting in the dug-out at the time and could hardly disguise his anger after their 4-3 defeat.
Holloway said: "There was one horrible moment when a racist remark was made to Jason by one supporter. I hope the fellow is banned for life."

I'm sick and tired of hearing about nothing but racism, when the whole atmosphere of football is hate-fueled. Fans can call a player's mother a whore, they can scream hatred at other fans just because they happen to support a different club, and nothing is done. The whole atmosphere of football is putrid. If uncivilised tribalistic behaviour in general was tackled effectively, the racism problem would go away because that particular form of abuse would be as out of place as all others. The current obsession with racism is nothing more than hypocritical PC posturing from people who lack manners and civilised values.
