Izale McLeod relieved after getting off the mark
28 Sep 2009Izale McLeod hopes he can finally get his Charlton career up and running after netting the winner against Exeter.
The striker has struggled to make an impact since he joined from MK Dons in 2007 but after adding to Nicky Bailey's earlier strike to secure a 2-1 victory, he said: "It's a big relief. Not just to get off the mark for this season but to score my first goal at home as a Charlton player."
He said: "I've been practising finishing across the keeper all week and it paid off. I hope someone from Spurs was watching!"
