Watford lose Helguson for two weeks

Watford striker Heidar Helguson has been ruled out for at least a fortnight after tearing a calf muscle on his first game back at the club.

The striker, who scored 64 goals in his first spell at Watford and returned to Vicarage Road on loan from Queens Park Rangers, suffered the injury in the 3-3 draw with Leicester last week.

He misses tonight's home match with Coventry but is expected to return against Middlesbrough on 17 October.

Boss Malky Mackay said: "The specialist says he has torn his calf muscle, so he's going to be out for a couple of weeks."

American international Jay DeMerit will also miss the match.

The defender has recovered from a groin strain but has picked up an infection after cutting his eye on a contact lens.

It is a blow for Mackay, who is also without suspended striker Nathan Ellington.
