Italian giants Roma will model their new 55,000-seater home on English Premier League stadiums.
The club share the Olimpico with city rivals Lazio, but want to move to increase matchday revenue.
And coach Claudio Ranieri is looking forward to being closer to fans.
The former Chelsea boss said: "It means being together, being an integral part of the experience with the fans who are close - in England it's like that everywhere."
