Video: Sir Alex Ferguson tells Jonny Evans's girlfriend to marry him

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans was put in an uncomfortable situation after taking his girlfriend to a press conference.

The 21-year-old was sitting alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and listening to his manager's views on players settling down and getting married.

The Northern Ireland international was then asked whether he would be tying the knot soon.

"I don't really want to talk about that here", Evans said. "Especially because my girlfriend's in the middle of you all.

"She's on placement with ITV this week."

To much laughter, Ferguson quipped to Evans's girlfriend: "Get him tied down dear, rings are cheap now."
