Neil Warnock: Our unbeaten run is a real boost

5 Oct 2009

Neil Warnock says Crystal Palace's good run of form will provide the necessary boost in confidence to lift the club out of the doldrums.

The cash-strapped Eagles have defied the odds to climb up to 12th in the Championship table following their 4-1 win over Blackpool to go four games without a defeat.

Chairman Simon Jordan has the club up for sale and is trying to juggle the finances to keep the club afloat.

Warnock said: "I am pleased not only for myself but for the chairman as we are fighting like hell to keep our heads above water."

QPR manager Jim Magilton has warned his players to up their work rate following the 2-0 defeat to Swansea. The club are also unlikely to appeal against Martin Rowlands or Ben Watson's red cards. Magilton said: “The lads' heads were still at St James' Park, maybe they looked at the reports after the Newcastle game and lorded it up.”

Watford manager Malky Mackay has backed goalkeeper Scott Loach to return stronger after his blunder in their 4-0 defeat to Cardiff. Loach let a 40-yard punt from Adam Matthews drop into his net and Mackay said: “Scott is a top young goalkeeper.”
