Avram Grant's back at Portsmouth
7 Oct 2009Avram Grant will return to Portsmouth as technical director, it has been announced today.
The 54-year-old has been out of football since he was sacked as manager of Chelsea in May last year, just three days after his side lost the Champions League Final.
But Pompey, under new ownership following the takeover by tycoon Ali Al Faraj, have now given Grant the same role he held before he moved to Chelsea in 2007.
"It's great news," said Portsmouth and England No1 David James. "He's very good at preparing teams."
