I'll steady the Portsmouth ship, says Ali Al Faraj

8 Oct 2009

New Portsmouth owner Ali Al Faraj has vowed to bring stability to the Premier League club following the appointment of Avram Grant as director of football.

Former Chelsea manager Grant yesterday signed a two-year deal with the south-coast club following the Saudi businessman's takeover at Fratton Park.

"Our aim is to put a stable foundation in place in all aspects of the business, beginning with the financial restructuring of the club," said Al Faraj.

Paul Hart has also been assured that he will continue as manager, even though the team are bottom.

Pompey's new owner added: "The players brought in at the 11th hour, along with those already at the club, have been tremendous and shown a great spirit and unity. And that is a great credit to them, Paul Hart and his coaching team."

Good to see that in soccer and business, Arabs and Israelis can just be people who work together. Why cannot the world be like that politically? Well done to Ali Al Faraj.
