Steven Gerrard ruled out of Belarus clash
13.10.09
Steven Gerrard will miss England's World Cup qualifier against Belarus tomorrow because of a groin injury.
The Liverpool captain picked up the injury during Saturday's 1-0 defeat in Ukraine and limped out of this morning's training session.
England boss Fabio Capello said: "He didn't finish training because the pain was the same as yesterday. He's going back to Liverpool."
Goalkeeper David James is also a doubt for tomorrow's Group Six clash at Wembley after missing today's training session.
"He had some problems with his knee," said Capello. "He's getting better, he'll stay with us and tomorrow we'll decide.
"I will speak with him tomorrow.
"The other players are fit. There are some little problems but not so big to be a problem."

Capello has had an easy ride so far with his bunch of overpaid and overrated millionaires. Cannot wait for this lot to face the heat of battle against the best.
More blubbing from Terry?

Is there a special rule for Liverpool players? Gerrard and Benitez continue to take everyone for fools. Every international game they pull this stroke.
- James, Manchester England
Surprise!, surprise!,
Gerrard unfit again when the International doesn't matter. See you against Sunderland three days later, then?
- Paul, Feltham
No surprise there then, he'll be fit and ready as usual for Saturday. Its about time the FA enfoced the five day rule. Gerrard does this time and time again.

Wonder if he'll be fit enough to play in Liverpool's next fixture?
