Cesc Fabregas: Pressure's on big spenders

Cesc Fabregas has warned Arsenal's title rivals that their big spending puts them under more pressure than the Gunners to win the Premier League.

Manager Arsene Wenger decided to continue developing his young players this summer rather than mirroring the outlay of clubs including Tottenham and Manchester City as they look to break into the top four.

Wenger's reluctance to add to the £10million signing of Thomas Vermaelen despite several players departing led some supporters to voice concerns over the strength in depth of Arsenal's squad, but Fabregas insists his team-mates much prefer it that way.

"Our style and philosophy of playing the game has remained consistent for a long time now and I am sure it will soon pay dividends," he said.

"We are a young team but we are ready and the experience of Arsene Wenger will help to bring the best out of all of us. We remain confident of achieving success.

"Of course we are under pressure to win the title because Arsenal is a big club and expectations are always high. But the other challengers have spent huge amounts of money in recent years to build their squads and perhaps they are the ones who are under the most pressure because of this investment. Arsenal has a long-term vision for the future.

"Nothing is ever impossible. We are not the favourites but we believe we can we can fight for the title."

I think Mr Gazidis was right when he said that Arsenal needed to win a trophy this season. We are paying top prices to watch our club and frankly I am a little tired of having to watch rookie goalkeepers and young players after announcing record profits.
If we win nothing this season then it will be time to bring in a bit more quality and class....and if that means bringing in a new coach then so be it
