West Ham's players have promised not to let Zavon Hines success go to his head.

The 20-year-old is a product of the celebrated West Ham academy and scored the late winner against Aston Villa to help his team out of the bottom three on Wednesday night.

He looks certain to start at home to Everton on Sunday in place of hamstring victim Carlton Cole and team-mate Mark Noble said: "I'm so pleased for Zavon and now I just hope he keeps his feet on the ground.

"I am sure he will because, as a group of players, we will make sure he doesn't get carried away."

On the morning of the Everton game, West Ham will unveil a plaque in honour of the West Ham Pals, a battalion of the Essex regiment during World War One.
