David Beckham not focused on personal glory

Patrick Whyte
12 Nov 2009

David Beckham says he is not interested in breaking individual records and would rather enjoy team success.

The midfielder will miss England's friendly against Brazil in Qatar as he tries to help LA Galaxy reach the MLS final.

Beckham is currently stuck on 110 caps, 15 behind current record holder Peter Shilton. However, he insists that the team always comes first.

"My number one priority is not breaking records, my number one priority is being in every squad possible.

"It's not the most important thing for me...at the end of the day the most important thing is the team, and it always has been."

Oh Steven, Wales..get a life and move on! Even Fabio Capello is happy with him...he even LET David drop out of the squad after he named him, knowing that there is a definite possibility David would stay in LA to win another trophy to add in his collection. And as you can see..there is NOWHERE in the report mentioning about Brand Beckham. And the most RIDICULOUS thing is that..when he withdrew from the England squad to help his club winning a championship..it's because he wants to protect Brand Beckham..but what would you say if he goes to join England for A FRIENDLY despite his club is facing a championship? To protect Brand Beckham too?? YOU ARE PATHETIC!!

"Not focused on personal glory", 'Brand Beckham' desperately requires personal glory and England does it not? It is the very sustenance of 'Brand Beckham' marketability, profitability, endorsement revenue potential and media/newspaper interest. I'd treat that blatant PR statement with the contempt it truly deserves.
