Brentford stars miss FA Cup clash with Gateshead

17 Nov 2009

Brentford will be without loan duo John Bostock and James Wilson for tonight's FA Cup replay against Conference side Gateshead.

Bostock - who scored twice on his debut against Millwall having signed a one-month loan from Tottenham - is away with England Under-19's in Turkey while centre-back Wilson is on duty with Wales' Under-21s in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Manager Andy Scott saw his full-strength side held to a 2-2 draw nine days ago and is determined to get the job done at Griffin Park.

Scott will be buoyed by the return of experienced striker Charlie MacDonald, who missed the original trip to the North-East as his partner was expecting a child.

The manager is also desperate to bring in a goalkeeper on loan as first-choice stopper Nikki Bull is sidelined until Christmas with a shoulder injury.

Lewis Price has been in fine form but Scott has been left with only nineteen-year-old rookie Simon Moore as cover.

He said: "We can't afford to lose Lewis. It's something I've been looking at over the last week. I'm weighing up how we can cope with the next eight games before the end of December."
