Talking them up: Carlo Ancelotti has praised his central defenders

Carlo Ancelotti likens defence to Milan greats

Carlo Ancelotti believes Chelsea have the best defenders in the world, likening his centre-halves to the greats he had at AC Milan.

Chelsea take on Wolves at Stamford Bridge tomorrow having not conceded a goal at home since the opening day of the season.

While in charge at AC Milan, Ancelotti had two of the world's finest defenders in Alessandro Nesta and Paolo Maldini and believes his Chelsea players are just as good.

He said: "John Terry, Alex, Ricardo Carvalho and Branislav Ivanovic are fantastic. I think Chelsea has the best central defenders in the world at this moment. Are they as good as what I had at AC Milan? It's the same level.

"If you want to win a cup or a championship it's important not to concede a goal."
