Andy Johnson's return to training is lift for Fulham

Fulham striker Andy Johnson was today hoping to end five weeks of frustration by returning to first-team training.

His recovery from a groin injury will come as a major boost after the club's 1-0 defeat at Birmingham at the weekend.

Wednesday's game at home to Blackburn will come too soon for Johnson (right) leaving boss Roy Hodgson desperate for goals.

He said: "Unfortunately, a goal eluded us at Birmingham. But what I was pleased about was that, after we went the goal down, we dominated the game totally."

Blimey, we certainly have been through an injury quagmire in Europe and Premeriship. Ridiculous red cards and injuries affecting EVERY position this season in complete contrast to last season. Thankfully our squad has more depth had done their jobs. But with Johnson, Zamora, Nevland and Kamara all recovering from injuries we certainly need them back soon.

PLUS Danny Murphy still not back. we need some luck somewhere with a flurry of games coming up playing, albeit ALL hoe games, Blackburn, Bolton, CSKA Sofia and Sunderland in 11 days.
