Napoli star Marek Hamsik is top of Chelsea wanted list

Chelsea will do battle with former manager Jose Mourinho again in the summer over the signing of Napoli star striker Marek Hamsik.

Chelsea and Inter Milan meet next week in the first leg of their last 16 tie in the Champions League, which will be the first time Mourinho faces his old club since he left Stamford Bridge in September 2007.

Hamsik, who has already scored eight goals this season, is one of Chelsea's top transfer targets for the off-season but he is wanted by Mourinho at Inter Milan as well.

Chelsea are desperate to inject some younger players into the squad now that their transfer ban has been lifted and they have been monitoring 22-year-old for some time.

The Slovakian international was Napoli's top scorer last season and the Italian club won't sell him for less than £17million.

Meanwhile, Michael Essien and Jose Bosingwa (both knee injuries) are both expected to return by the end of the month.

Ancelotti said: “The medical staff have done a fantastic job so we have players now in excellent condition.”
