Elena Baltacha faces tough opening test
23 Jun 2009Former British No2 Elena Baltacha is bracing herself for a tough opening match against world No33 Alona Bondarenko of the Ukraine.
Baltacha, who reached the third round seven years ago and who has twice made the second round, admitted: “Alona's a very tough player and she has also reached the third round here before so she can definitely play on the grass.
“For me to stand a chance of winning I know I will have to play my best, and I believe I'm capable of doing that.”
