'It's a global melting pot of cultures'

Almost half of the people working for a public relations firm in Wimbledon were born abroad.

The 16-strong team employed at Say Communications includes people born in India, France, Russia and Italy.

Ms Stewart-Muir, who was born in Scotland, said: "It is nice to have people of different cultures in the office. They have different experiences and it is quite fun. It is also really wonderful to have staff who can speak lots of different languages."

Anna Meylakh, 25, from Russia, has been here for two years. She said: "I love London because it's so diverse, vibrant and cosmopolitan. It's like a little globe where you can meet people from all over the world. You could live in London for 20 years and still explore new things."

Sarah Cantavalle, 25, from Italy, has been in London for seven months. She said: "It is such a vibrant city and career-wise has so much to offer."

Lindsay Wilson, 27, from America, has been in London for a year. She said: "Michigan is very homogenous, so I was amazed when I found out my new church group represented nine different nationalities."

Stefi Rucci, 40, from Italy, has been in the capital for nine years. She said: "I left Rome after my A-levels wanting to spend a summer in London but I never returned. I loved the multicultural mix and that the job market is so fluid."

Lorène Cristini, 20, from France, has been in London for three months. She said: "I am really enjoying it. I have always been interested in this city - it is so cosmopolitan that you cannot help but find your place. The wages are much higher than in France."

Aakriti Kaushik, 25, from New Delhi, has lived in London for three years. She said: "I love the city for its ever buzzing lifestyle. It's truly a global melting pot for international cultures. What I adoremost is how the architecture has been preserved over the years and merged with modern lifestyles."

I too agree with Aakriti in saying that London gives you a blend of international cultures. You truly find unity in diversity, the way people work and interact. Above all the lifestyle is so vibrant and lively. And the architecture too is very aesthetic.
