'Booze bus' rescues drunk City workers

Paramedics driving a "booze bus" around London have looked after scores of City workers who have had one too many.
Some have been found asleep in doorways in the early hours while others have been hauled out of pubs because they were too drunk to get themselves home safely. Paramedic Brian Hayes was called to a 53-year-old woman who had just left a Christmas party.
He said: "She was well-dressed and seemed very well to do, apart from the fact she could barely stand. It was embarrassing because she started making suggestive remarks to the crew."
The booze bus trawls the West End, scooping up people who are drunk or injured because of alcohol. Mr Hayes said: "The level of drunkenness is just ridiculous. We are discovering professional people in doorways and on pavements."
