Cerny fearing Wembley axe after blunder

Radek Cerny today admitted his mistake against Slavia Prague could cost him his dream of playing in the Carling Cup Final against Chelsea.
Spurs were heading for a comfortable 2-0 away win in the first leg of their last-32 UEFA Cup tie when the Czech keeper inexplicably dropped a cross and David Strihavka tapped in.
Cerny has been given a run in the side because manager Juande Ramos had had enough of Paul Robinson's errors, but the Spaniard may reconsider with the clash against Chelsea at Wembley just nine days away.
And Cerny said: "Yes, I am worried, I don't know what to say. We won this game and we will see what happens in the next game. I will work hard in training over the next week like I always do. I am so disappointed. It was a high cross and I thought everything was fine. I didn't see the striker coming so close to me. I just dropped the ball and then I realised that he was too close.
"I feel very bad, especially as it is my home town. We still won the game but we are not happy about the result because we could have scored three, four, five goals.
"I feel disappointed. I know every player makes a mistake sometimes, but I have made mine in my home town against my old club."
Ramos refused to publicly condemn Cerny, who has been impressive in recent weeks since he replaced Robinson in goal.
The manager said: "The mistakes can always happen, that is the world of football. This time it was the turn of Cerny."
