Justin Davenport, Crime Correspondent

This is the scene in Park Lane after a cyclist died in a collision with a bus.

The man, whose name has not been released, was trapped under the number 74 bus and pronounced dead at the scene after the incident at 11pm last night. Police said today they were trying to trace the man's next of kin. In a separate incident a 25-year-old man was knocked off his bicycle and suffered serious injuries in Old Street last night after a collision with a lorry. He is recovering in hospital. Statistics show that more than one cyclist is seriously injured on London's roads every day.
