Choppers fly the river before turning tail for Biggin Hill show

A Sarang helicopter display team from the Indian air force flew over the O2 Arena as part of their preparation for this weekend's International Air Fair.

The team will be one of the major highlights of the event at Biggin Hill and it will be the first time they have performed in Britain. Their helicopters feature the bright colours of the peacock - the Indian national bird - and their name comes from the Sanskrit word for the bird. The International Air Show is one of the largest privately organised air shows in Europe and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.

Aircrafts from the past 100 years will be on show in the air and on the ground with six hours of aviation displays planned for both days.

The dynamic Blades display team flown by former members of the RAF Red Arrows team will also make their third appearance at the event. And away from the world of aviation, there will be a daily presentation of more than 100 classic cars.
