Westminster bans bottles

Westminster council banned bottled water today in a bid to help the environment as well as save more than £12,000 a year.
The council currently goes through more than 31,000 litres of water a year, both from glass bottles and 13-litre plastic containers. It has now removed all bottled water dispensers, putting in tap water coolers instead.
Danny Chalkley, Westminster's cabinet member for environment and transport, said: "This shows that going green doesn't just help save the planet, it can also save you money."
The council is also set to use tap water instead of bottled water at meetings and events, saving an estimated £6,480 a year.
