Couple charged over 'supplying drugs to Winehouse and Peaches'

A couple accused of supplying Class A drugs to celebrities including Amy Winehouse and Peaches Geldof have been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine.

Johnny Blagrove, 34, and his girlfriend 22-year-old Cara Burton will appear in court on two counts of conspiracy to supply cocaine and MDMA powder.

The move comes after an investigation which included an examination of video footage of Winehouse and Geldof contained on a PC memory stick seized from the couple.

It shows Winehouse, 24, allegedly smoking crack as well as footage of Bob Geldof's 19-year-old daughter apparently handing over money to a drug dealer. Both women escaped charges on a technicality because police could not prove that they were taking or buying drugs, or which drugs they were.

The decision led Met chief Sir Ian Blair to call for a re-think on how police investigate films of celebrity drug-taking.

Blagrove and Burton, of Dalston, have been bailed to appear at Thames magistrates' court next month.
