Father's bid to raise £10,000 for hospital his girl loved

A father is aiming to raise £10,000 for a hospital which treated his daughter before she died last year.
David Nicholls will cycle 60 miles from London to Brighton in aid of the Royal Brompton & Harefield Charitable Trust.
The hospital treated his daughter Maddie who died aged 14 after suffering a number of illnesses during a two-year period. She was diagnosed with a brain-stem tumour and slipped into a coma before dying on 5 July.
Mr Nicholls, 51, with his partner Vicky and six colleagues, is raising funds to build a parents' room at the hospital, to be named in honour of his daughter.
He said: "It will be a place for consultations, to break bad news, in a quiet place rather than in the open ward.
"Her favourite hospital during her illness was the children's ward at the Royal Brompton. Maddie made many friends there.
"We also want to raise awareness about organ donation. Maddie donated all of her organs, which resulted in her saving four lives."
