A festival of culinary delights is well under way with food-lovers invited to sample some of the best food in London.

A Taste of London, in association with the Standard, runs until Sunday in Regent's Park.

Visitors are invited to sample the work of Michelin-starred chefs such as Tom Aikens, Angela Hartnett and Gary Rhodes.

More than 40 top London restaurants including Le Gavroche, L'Atelier du Joel Robuchon, China Tang and Café Anglais will also serve sample-sized portions of their signature dishes.

Attractions include a showcase of Chinese food plus a chance to watch top chefs at work in the Taste Theatre and demonstrations and tastings to celebrate the best of British food.

London Mayor Boris Johnson opened the event yesterday where he was presented with a birthday cake and even tackled carving a pig spitroast.
