Scissor gang cuts off girl's hair in two-hour bus robbery ordeal

Evening Standard

A teenage girl was "scalped" by a gang who robbed her on a bus in broad daylight.

The 18-year-old was targeted by four girls as she travelled on the No82 along Ealing Broadway.

During a two-hour ordeal they threatened her with scissors, demanded she hand over her mobile phone and other possessions, then one attacker cut off 10 inches of her hair while the others held her down.

The victim was forced to give the gang her National Insurance card, passport, £10 in cash and Samsung phone, before being marched off the bus and taken to a cash machine and told to withdraw £250.

On discovering the machine was out of order, one of the gang asked a passer by for directions to another. They then took the terrified girl to Southall Broadway by bus where she was forced to make the withdrawal. The gang fled with the cash on a third bus.

Today police appealed for anyone with information about the attack, which happened last Friday, to come forward. Pc Reuben Pearson said: "This was both a cruel and traumatic experience for the victim."

The gang members were described as black and aged between 16 and 20. Witnesses are urged to contact Ealing CID on 020 87217039 or Crimestoppers on 0800555 111.

And what was the bus driver doing throughout this? Doing what they normally do and turning a blind eye to everything, same as the passengers probably burying their heads in their newspapers.
