Max Mosley: suing the News of the World for invasion of privacy

Dominatrix told to video Mosley giving 'sieg heil'

A News Of The World reporter told a dominatrix how to secretly film motor-racing boss Max Mosley giving a "sieg heil" salute, the High Court heard this afternoon.

Chief reporter Neville Thurlbeck admitted instructing Ms "E" on using the hidden camera in case Mr Mosley made the Nazi salute.

Ms E, whose identity is protected by the court, filmed the five-hour S&M session in Mr Mosley's Chelsea flat.

She handed the video to the newspaper, which published the pictures with a front-page headline "F1 Boss Has Sick Nazi Orgy with 5 Hookers."

The president of the FIA is suing the paper for what he considers to be a gross invasion of privacy.

Mr Mosley's QC James Price told the court the reporter had told Ms E: "When you want to get him doing the sieg heil.... It's about three metres away from him, then you will get him, no problem."

Mr Price said: "You were suggesting to her that she may want to get him to do the sieg heil."

Mr Thurlbeck said he was only giving her instructions "if" Mr Mosley decided to give the Nazi salute in the middle of the sessions. "I realised that if it was going to be a Nazi theme [to the S&M party] and if Mosley was to give the salute, then it would be a very crucial image for us to capture.

"It would a very powerful and emotive image and I saw it as my job to make sure that if he did give the fascist salute then our girl had sufficient instructions with the camera to capture that image."

News Of The World editor Colin Myler also gave evidence to the trial earlier today and said Mr Mosley was not "dragged kicking and screaming" into a sado-masochistic sex session.

Mr Myler said the five women who were paid for five hours of spanking and being spanked were not hired by his Sunday newspaper.

He added that what had happened in Mr Mosley's Chelsea flat was " brutal" because the 68-year-old had been left bleeding. "I know blood was drawn because he had a plaster on his pink bottom," Mr Myler said. The third day of the trial today was marked by fiery exchanges between Mr Myler and Mr Mosley's QC, James Price. The barrister accused the paper of "inventing" the Nazi slur to justify breaking press guidelines with the use of a hidden camera.

Mr Myler said the S&M role-playing involving headlice inspections, shaving, speaking German, wearing uniforms and prisoner and guard fantasy all had "Nazi-style connotations".

But Mr Price pointed out that what the News Of The World had called "an SS-style inspection sheet", used in the role-play, was nothing more than "a plastic spiral-bound notebook".

In the role playing, Mr Mosley was playing a character called Tim Barnes. "The famous death camp Commandant Tim Barnes, perhaps?" Mr Price asked sarcastically, adding: "There appears nothing to be said for it being a Nazi scenario."

When asked if he was implying Mr Mosley's alleged injuries meant the F1 boss had instigated a crime against himself, Mr Myler said: "That's what Mr Mosley did. The News Of The World didn't take him kicking and screaming to the flat in Chelsea." The case continues.
