Chance to join white van men

Motorists are being encouraged to become "white van men" - after a leading car club unveiled plans to put VW Transporters at 150 new sites across the capital.
Streetcar already has 900 pay-as-you-go cars at 650 locations in London and 33,000 members. Now, in partnership with Homebase and Big Yellow Storage, it is stationing VW Transporter vans at stores and street sites across the city.
They can be hired by members for £8.95 an hour.
Streetcar says it gives shoppers the chance to buy and transport large goods at their own convenience, avoiding high delivery charges and the need to wait at home for delivery men.
