Four people were injured in three shootings and one person died in another shooting in London over the weekend.

The spate of firearm incidents began late on Friday night, but full details have only just been released by police. The first happened at 11.30pm on Friday in Northolt.

Two men in their midthirties were sitting in a Jeep Cherokee with two passengers in the back seats. The rear passengers then pulled out two shotguns and opened fire. The driver was hit in the back and hand, while the front seat passenger was hit around the head and suffered cuts to his face.

The victims managed to escape and were taken to nearby Northwick Park Hospital but were later discharged.

One hour later officers were called to a pub in Enfield following reports that a man had been shot outside in the car park. The 28-year-old was taken to an east London hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He is in a stable condition.

Then at 1.30am officers were called to the Base Bar in Stoke Newington after a drinker was shot inside. The victim, aged 24, was taken to hospital suffering gunshot wounds.

The spate of shootings ended 24 hours later when Curtis Smith was murdered in Limehouse after being gunned down with a machine gun. The 35-year-old, from north Kensington, was the target of a gangster-style " execution" outside Club Red.
