From Grieg to grime at Albert Hall

The Royal Albert Hall is to showcase unsigned urban acts to attract young music fans.
The cocknbullkid, aka 22-yearold "grime" singer Anita Blay from Hackney, and Dels, rapper Kieron Dickens, 23, will take over from the BBC Symphony Orchestra as the Proms come to an end in September and the Hush gig series returns. The underground acts have yet to release traditional albums despite becoming MySpace stars.
Described as a cross between Neneh Cherry and Morrissey, Blay appeared at this year's Glastonbury festival to critical acclaim. Her single On My Own was released a fortnight ago.
She said: "I've only been to the Royal Albert Hall once before. My mum took me to a Pentecostal event with gospel singers. I was around eight so going back to perform there is quite daunting. It's really positive to encourage young people into the Albert Hall." The pair will perform in the Elgar Room on 15 September.
