Fiona Bruce berated for making Antiques Roadshow 'sexy'

BBC viewers have complained that the Antiques Roadshow has been inappropriately "sexed up" by new presenter Fiona Bruce.

They say the 44-year-old replacement for Michael Aspel, 75, is "dumbing down" the format and turning it into the Fiona Bruce Show. One wrote: "The show is losing its credibility while this giggly female appears on it," and others complained about her bringing along her doll collection.

However, since she took charge, viewers have risen by 600,000. A BBC spokesman said: "The format has not changed."

It's not Fiona Bruce's fault that she's gorgeous.
I thoroughly enjoy the antiques roadshow whoever presents it.

perhaps a youthful looking 21st century presenter just doesn't suit people's image of antiques..

I wouldn't say she has "sexed up" the programme, but she adds absolutely nothing, trivialises the show, making it seem like a very lightweight airy-fairy silly litte thing. It was an obvious mistake to put her in this position. Isn't she supposed to be a newsreader? I've also seen her (about a week ago) hosting some sort of qiz show. Apparently Fiona is going the way of some other tv personalities" -- i.e. overexposure. She should be replaced on the Antiques Roadshow. Put in a man or woman with some gravitas as well as a good sense of humour.

Fifi Le Brucey rocks. It is time she lifted the restriction on MIB so he can attend a Roadshow filming to back up her not aloof claim.

This is nothing new. My Granny used to have an attack of the vapours when Michael Aspel was on!

Kate Hoey is a lot sexier than Fiona.
