City auction for charity

Evening Standard
21.10.08

THE Prince's Trust will test the City's generosity in difficult times with its annual auction next month.

The charity hopes to raise more than £1million to help unemployed young people. Lots include a diamond necklace by royal jewellers Asprey, a guitar signed by the Rolling Stones and chances to meet film, music and sports stars.

Bidders will be City high-fliers and the charity hopes the credit crunch won't stop them digging deep.

Annabel Kirk, of the trust, said: "We believe that the rising numbers of unemployed young people make our case more important than ever."

The auction will be held on 6 November at Old Billingsgate.
