Fireman wins second payout

A black fireman who said he suffered racist bullying at three fire stations has won a second out-of-court payout.

Jason Toal, 33, said colleagues put eggs and tomatoes in his boots, filled his helmet with urine, blocked his uniform orders, made racist jibes, binned his paperwork and stole his possessions.

He won a £20,000 out-of-court settlement from London Fire Brigade in 2006 after a race discrimination claim over his ordeal at Shoreditch station.

He has now won a second, undisclosed sum after bullying allegedly continued at Dowgate and Paddington stations. He is said to now be considering joining a station near his home in Luton.

London Fire Brigade has denied Mr Toal's race discrimination and victimisation claims and declined to comment.

Nice little earner he's on isn't it?

I bet the Luton Watch can't wait to be accused of racism and bullying too. It might be easier in the long term to just give him a big pile of cash the day he's due to start so he can go to the next station on his list and they can employ someone who might just get on with the business of fighting fires not fanning the flames of industrial unrest.
